Georgina Flint

Chloe Laming

Philippa Siamantas

Georgia won the 2010 Drama Award for her outstanding performance as Jools in our senior end of show, 'A Family Affair.'

The audience agreed that the evening show the best we have produced yet and the ending was a dramatic surprise.

Georgia performed brilliantly and won amongst the strongest competition ever. Well done Georgia and well done every senior drama student for such a superb performance.

Chloe performed in both 2010 end of year shows playing Trudi in 'Hansel and Gretel' and Mr Kettle in the evening show, 'A Family Affair.'

Chloe's performance as Trudi was truly memorable (especially with the need to change noses that became longer and longer!)

Well done Chloe for a great performance and stage presence.

Philippa won the 2010 Drama Award for her part as the witch and Reverend Peckinpah in our matinee show, 'Hansel and Gretel.'

Philippa played her role as the witch with great 'cackle' and the audience played along with great booing!

Well done Philippa for an excellent performance and great commitment to the show.

2010 matinee end of year show

Once again we we presented TWO end of year shows on the same day at the King's Theatre, Southsea and once again our matinee show was a showcase for our very junior students.

'Hansel and Gretel' had everything! A wicked stepmother with a nose that grew with every scene, a house made of sweets, two lost children and a wicked witch who cackled her way through the loud boos from the audience. Of course it all ended up happily ever after! The audience got to shout, sing, cheer AND boo!

A special thank you to every dancer and everyone in the Theatre classes and well done all those in the drama classes who did splendidly! Thank you too to all who helped backstage.

So..... what shall we do next year?

2010 evening end of year show

Our evening show, 'A Family Affair' was the first time we had ventured into serious drama with music and dance.

Inspired by 'Romeo and Juliet', our evening show brought the story of two feuding families and it's ultimate tragedy with excellent acting together with superb music and great choreography. Ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, hip hop, latin all came together to an unexpected crescendo and conclusion.

A very special thank you to our senior drama class and to every dancer in every genre who worked so hard in the lead up to the show. And thank you to the faculty who choreographed each number and everyone back stage who made our show so special.

Excellent every one of you!

RIVALS

The Angels and the Rebels danced their way through a great program of fantastic music and gave us a great show in 'RIVALS', the Classique School of Dance evening show at the King's Theatre, Southsea.

Kire Newport was superb as Betty together with Daisy Stokes as Fifi Vavoom who lived their roles as the rivals for Betty's husband Charlie. Best yet!

Cara Curtis-Mays played daughter Marcie and Emily Drain played her school friend Tina who just wanted to go out and have a good time.

The rival gangs of the Angels and the Rebels were played by the Senior Theatre class with Hannah Owen, Emily Piper, Ellie Upton, Imogen Clark and Sarah Crane in the leading roles.

Our stars as always were our dancers. Well done our ballet classes, our tap, modern, hip hop, jazz and contemporary classes and a very special thanks to our adult classes.

Well done to you all!!.

WHAT A TIME WE HAD AT OUR 2008 END OF YEAR SHOWS!

TWO shows for 2008! AND we were at the King's Theatre Southsea! Fantastic! What a day we had!

A few photos from rehearsals and from backstage at the King's Theatre on the day. More to come....

The faculty arrived around 8:30 in the morning with helpers and chaperones ready to start off a very long day. The cast of NEXT! turned up around 9:30 and we started our technical run through for the evening show. We finished in time for lunch and for our 3 to 6 year olds to turn up for our matinee show Baby NEXT!

The curtain went up at 2.00 and we had a great show, especially written for and presented by our baby classes. A special thank you to Zoe Green and Vicky Blackhall for being our narrators.

After Baby Next! we had an hour or so to complete the technical run through for our evening show and suddenly it was 7.00! The curtains came down and in came the audience. In no time it was 7.30 and we started the best show we have ever had. NEXT!

'Another opening another show', 'I hope he picks me', 'One, singular sensation'. And many more great songs and dance numbers as everyone acted at auditioning for a show. Well done, Sam Curtin-Sewell and Daisy Stokes for turning in great performances. Emily Drain, Beth Caley and Ellie Upton gave great performances as the three star struck friends who want to be dancers. Well done girls, every one of you! Also, a special thank you to Faye Sears as Magico and Adam Thomas-Newton as Eric the Escaper and a special thank you to Bethany Latham, Kire Newport, Philippa Siamantas, Rebecca Chipps, Emily Piper and Travis Tanner. Also well done to Lana Spence, Katy Barber and Zoe Green who played the financial backers.

Thank you also to all our faculty, chaperones and helpers. Most of all, thank you each of our pupils who danced their way through our shows. WELL DONE!

What a time we had in 2006!

THE ROARING TWENTIES

Photos of our 2006 end of year show at Fernham Hall on July 30th! And what a time we had! The stage crew and faculty turned up at 8:30 in the morning to build the sets and get everything in place. All our pupils began arriving from around 9:30 and we want to thank Annie for keeping everyone occupied until we kicked off the technical and final dress rehearsal.

And so came the evening. Nervous? In front of a nearly full house? NO! (Well maybe a little!) The curtains went up and we kicked off with 'Blackbottom'. Away went the show and it was great from beginning to end. Thank you all for putting in a great performance and working so hard! And thank you all those who have helped tirelessly to make the Classique School of Dance such a success. Thank you all! AND WELL DONE!!!
