FEES, UNIFORMS AND REGULATIONS

 

REGISTRATION
All pupils without exception are required to register on joining the Classique School of Dance.
A standard one payment registration fee of £15.00 is required to be paid on registration. The Classique School of Dance reserve the right to alter the registration fee at any time without notification. Registration fees are not refundable and are required to be paid in full before any student can attend any class at the Classique Scholl of Dance.
All details required for registration must be completed in full. On acceptance one photo of the registered pupil will be taken by the school administration for record identity purposes. The Classique School of Dance abides by all data protection legislation and will not forward any personal details or photos whatsoever to any agent outside of the Classique group without specific permission or unless part of a separate agreement.
Registration of a pupil under the age of 18 is required to signed by one parent or guardian together with full contact information that covers the attendance of the pupil at any class at any time at the school.
The Classique School of Dance reserves the right to refuse the registration of any person or withdraw the registration of any person without notification of reason.
A student that has registered for classes at the Classique School of Dance but does not attend for a period of four consecutive weeks without prior agreement must re-register and are required to pay a re-registration fee.

TUITION FEES
Payment can be made by cash or accepted and certain notable credit and debit cards. The Classique School of Dance does not accept any payment by cheque in any circumstances.
Advance payment for a full term qualifies for a 5% reduction.
Advance payment for an academic year qualifies for a 10% reduction.
Please note that certain scheduled classes are designated as payment per term in advance. These classes are noted as such on the published Classique School of Dance timetable and on information pamphlets accordingly. Attendance to any such classes cannot be made without payment.
Without exception, payment for all lessons must be made two weeks in advance of the scheduled class. Attendance to any class whatsoever will not be permitted without prior payment. Failure to pay will result in the withdrawal of registration and the Classique School of Dance reserves the right to refuse re-registration of any pupil without notification of reason.
Non attendance to any class requires payment for that lesson of that class.
The Classique School of Dance reserves the right to alter any fees at any time without prior notice.
The Classique School of Dance reserves the right to refuse entry of any person whatsoever to its premises without reason.
Scheduled classes - All normal classes as advertised and as scheduled in the published school timetable for each dance genre including Ballet, Tap, Theatre, National, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop etc are charged at the following rates as of 1st August 2009.

Extra lessons – Throughout the academic year there are occasions where extra lessons may be required, e.g. in support of ISTD exams. All lessons (except for agreed private lessons) that are over and above those scheduled in the school timetable in core dance genres are charged at the same rate as listed in scheduled classes. Payment for all extra lessons is required to be made two weeks in advance.
Private tuition - Individual tuition is on a one to one basis and is available for core dance genres and is charged at £12.50 for every consecutive 30 minute session. (£15.50 if private lesson with Principal.)
Adult tuition - All lessons denoted as 'adult' (for example, adult tap, adult modern and adult ballet etc) are designed for persons over the age of 18. Pupils under the age of 18 cannot attend any lesson determined as 'adult'.
End of year show - All pupils in all genres and attendees of all classes are encouraged to take part in the school's end of year shows. Auditions for speaking parts in the productions will only be taken from the Drama classes.
Permission to appear in an end of year show is required from adult students and from parents and guardians of each pupil under the age of 18. Permission slips are issued for each named and signature gives permission for the pupil to appear in public, to appear in the show programme, to be photographed for advertising and publicity purposes, to be filmed and to appear in a DVD of the performance which will be available for sale by the school to the general public.
The copyright of all photographs, all advertising, all publicity and all DVD and other media belongs to and remains the property of the Classique School of Dance.
Rehearsal fees - A rehearsal fee will be charged at a day rate and will be determined and published in line with a rehearsal schedule for any forthcoming show or event. The Classique School of Dance reserves the right to declare and alter the rehearsal fee at any time without prior notice.
Costume fee - Events such as the end of year show and other performances throughout the academic year will require costumes to be individually made for pupils. Whilst much of the burden to supply these is taken on by the school, pupils are expected to contribute a minimal fee to assist the school in supplying these costumes.
A fee for each event or show will be required and may vary according to the event or show. Required fees will be published and requested well advance of any show. The Classique School of Dance reserves the right to declare and alter the fee at any time without prior notice.
The costume fee does not a purchase a costume. ALL costumes are purchased for the Classique School of Dance and remain the sole property of the Classique School of Dance thereafter. Costumes must be promptly returned to the school after each performance in a clean state and in good condition.
Without exception, non payment of the end of year show fee will prevent the pupil from taking part in any show.
ISTD fees - There is a separate fee for each and every ISTD examination. The school will select pupils for ISTD examinations and advise those pupils accordingly. Permission is required from the student or from the student’s parent or guardian if the pupil is under the age of 18.
The examination date, the fee to be paid and the paid by date for each examination will be determined and announced in advance to those selected. Payment must be made in advance of any examination. Without exception, non-payment of any examination fee will prevent a pupil from taking the examination.  
Changes in fees - The Classique School of Dance reserve the right to change or alter any fees at anytime without prior warning.

Theatre class - pupils may only join the Theatre class if they subscribe to and attend lessons in two other dance genres, one of which must be either ballet or modern.

UNIFORM
The Classique School of Dance requires every pupil to wear the uniform and shoes associated with each attending dance discipline without exception and at all times. The uniform is in line with the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dancing regulations and the Classique School of Dance dress code. All items are available from the Classique School Shop or from reputable dance shops nationally.

Ballet - Pre-primary, Primary, Grades 1 and 2 - ISTD approved regulation leotard in cornflower blue with matching material skirt. Pink ankle socks and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons (elastic for Pre-primary). Optional cornflower blue wrap over cardigan in either knitted or fabric.

Ballet - Grades 3 and 4 - ISTD approved regulation leotard in plum with matching wrap over skirt (optional). Pink ballet tights and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons. Optional plum wrap over cardigan in either knitted or fabric. Leather ballet shoes with elastic may be worn for classes.

Ballet - Grades 5 and 6 - ISTD approved regulation leotard in purple with matching wrap over skirt (optional). Pink ballet tights and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons. Optional purple wrap over cardigan in either knitted or fabric. Leather ballet shoes with elastic may be worn for classes.

Ballet - Intermediate foundation and intermediate - ISTD approved regulation leotard in navy blue with matching wrap over skirt (optional). Pink ballet tights and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons. Optional navy blue wrap over cardigan in either knitted or fabric. Leather ballet shoes with elastic may be worn for classes.

Theatre - Black leggings or trousers with choice of Classique School of Dance T-shirt or vest top. Optional hoodie jacket may be worn (available only from Classique School Shop). Jazz shoes, dance trainers, ballet shoes or bare feet. Other dance foot ware may be required (e.g. tap shoes).

Tap / Modern - Baby, Pre-Primary and Primary - ISTD approved regulation pink cat suit with black tap shoes. Bare feet preferred for Modern, however, ballet shoes and Jazz shoes may be worn for classes.

Tap / Modern - Grades 1 and 2 - ISTD approved regulation lilac cat suit with black tap shoes. Bare feet preferred for Modern, however, ballet shoes and Jazz shoes may be worn for classes.

Tap / Modern - Grades 3 and 4 - ISTD approved regulation purple turtle neck leotard with key hole and black leggings (either cropped or stirruped).

Tap / Modern - Grades 5 and 6 - ISTD approved regulation black and hot pink slashed leotard with black leggings (either cropped or stirruped).

Jazz - Black leggings or trousers with choice of Classique School of Dance T-shirt or vest top. Optional hoodie jacket may be worn (available only from Classique School Shop). Choice of either jazz shoes, dance trainers, or bare feet.

Contemporary - Choice of either black stirruped tights or leotard or ISTD approved regulation royal blue cat suit and bare feet.

BEHAVIOUR
The Classique School of Dance expects the highest standard of behaviour from all pupils at all times. Dance is a physical occupation and bad behaviour can result in physical damage to property or to fellow students.
Failure to maintain good behaviour will result in the student being warned once and the parent or guardian of a pupil under the age or 18 being informed. If a pupil is consistently badly behaved then the pupil will be required to leave the school.
Bullying by any pupil at the school will not be tolerated at all. Bullying will result in the student being instantly dismissed from the school. If the pupil is under 18 the parent or guardian of the pupil will be informed and will be requested to remove the pupil.
Theft from the school or from other pupils at the school will not be tolerated. Theft by a pupil will result in the student being warned and the parent or guardian of a pupil under the age or 18 being informed and subsequent action being taken.
In all cases the decision of the Principal of the Classique School of Dance is final and the school reserves the right to dismiss any pupil for unsuitable behaviour at any time without warning. The school also reserves the right to refuse re-entry and re-registration of the pupil.
